FURNITURE DESIGN: PRAGUE INSTITUTE

Summer, 2015: Taught by a Czech furniture designer, this course focused mainly on the evolution of furniture design and how to successfully design and build working furniture from limited materials and resources. Given only one sheet of plywood and several dowel rods of varying sizes, I was challenged to design functional, beautiful furniture at full scale. The original table and coat rack pairing are pictured here; they remain in Prague where they are utilized by students in NC State’s Prague Institute.
